SF MoMa SuperGraphics Mural

Mural | Collaboration | Public Art | 2020

Brett MacFadden and Scott Thorpe led a one day workshop inspired by the exhibition, The Sea Ranch: Architecture, Environment, and Idealism, on temporary view at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. CCA graphic design students worked with students from San Francisco's Ruth Asawa School of the Arts to create a supergraphics mural in SFMOMA's Public Knowledge Library. The Public Knowledge Library is a space that is free and open to the general public, and the mural was displayed for one week.

"In this super world, with its supercharged, super-intense and superwoman exuberance, I combined the super-sized enthusiasm of California Abstract Expressionism with hard-edge Swiss graphics, and ended up with, however superfluous and superficial, supergraphics.”
